Awesome Day at the Phoenix Open

The perfect day to watch golf. Sunny, warm and no wind. My brother-in-law and I settled in at the 18th tee to watch the pro’s launch drives. Daly hit the longest of the day, but I think he missed the cut. He could care less.

We headed to the 16th - “The Loudest Hole in Golf” - and positioned ourselves against the ropes at the 17th tee, a reachable par 4 (338 yards, with the pin cut deep). The perfect spot to watch the tee shots and putting at the 16th and the drives at 17.

We heckled and boo-ed the ones that missed the green. Nowhere else is that accepted. On 17, the guys are driving the ball and it is like a hockey game - noise level. It is amazing how far off line they can hit balls when they miss. I thought that more guys would hit the green on 17. Maybe 2 out of 40.

Best swings - Mike Weir and Vijay Singh.

They are all in great shape now and it is amazing how different all the swings are when you get close and watch.

Looking forward to a weekend of Phoenix Open golf and the Super Bowl.
