Callaway Golf Lands Ernie Els, Titleist Balls No more

Four year Titleist team member Ernie Els has switched sponsers to Callaway. Hooked On Golf says Els’ swap comes just two months after he announced a rededication to become the world’s top ranked player. Els has used Titleist balls for his entire career, the Callaway switch will end that trend. This announcement is big news for Callaway as well. Landing Els gives them a top rated player in Europe — something missing from a roster that includes Phil Mickelson and Charles Howell.
Callaway has made a full blown effort this season to grow the company and expand the brand. Their new drivers seem to be a hit. And the company is on the verge of releasing breakthrough wedges that meet upcoming regulations.
