Jenna Daniels Says Her Husband Isn’t Hitting On his Students

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Jenna Daniels is not happy that people have been hammering on her husband after he was fired from his postion as head coach of the women’s golf team at the University of Georgia. Jenna’s husband Todd McCorkle showed his students “1 Night in Paris,” the Paris Hilton sex video. He also “shared remarks about bras and underwear color,” and discussed the male anatomy, according to the Associated Press. Now Jenna is speaking out. On her blog she posts:

I would like to address some of the recent media reports. Although I would like to keep our relationship private, I resent the questions about the integrity of my relationship with Todd and I am disappointed in the allegations against his integrity as a coach. He is one of the premier coaches in the country and he has been a positive influence in the lives of the golfers that he has coached. Todd is a loving and kind husband who has an incredible passion to coach the game of golf. I love my husband and I will stand by him and continue to give him all the support he needs as we face this together. I look forward to getting back out on the course to play the game I love.

Jenna should know. She was one of Todd’s players back at the University of Arizona and he totally didn’t show her porno back then. Shaa.

AT&T is bustin’ out for The Classic next week. Six days at Sugarloaf will be streamed live from the AT&T Blueroom. Visitors to the tournament will also get a nice little surprise from the corporate sponsor: a free smartphone. Golf fans will be given an “AT&T Wireless Caddie;” a smartphone loaded with “statistics, course maps, pairings, updated tournament-scoring and access AT&T content, games and messaging.” Pretty cool huh?

Record Breaking: Golfers Fill The Pond At TPC Sawgrass

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Pro golfers strive to alter the record books for the long run. But once and a while those swinging clubs would rather keep certain achievements from taking space on the pages of the Hall of Fame. Today a record 50 balls landed in the water surrounding the 17th hole of the famed TPC Sawgrass. That number would have only been 46, but Davis Love III, Ben Curtis, Kent Jones and Trevor Immelman managed to sink two a piece. The 17th hole was actually never meant to be so tough, but development forced an obstacle:

Originally, No. 17 wasn’t even supposed to be an island. Things changed when the sand surrounding the area that is now the green was used to build other fairways. Course designer Pete Dye struggled with design ideas until his wife, Alice, suggested an island green.

Now, the island could be the most recognizable golf hole in the world. It has its own Web site, its own T-shirts and its own fans. Thousands of people come to this tournament each year not to see Tiger Woods or Ernie Els, but to see No. 17.

Check out this killer Google Maps overview of 17:
