Hi everyone and happy Monday!

Well, the British Open wrapped up yesterday in an exciting finish (I won’t give it away just in case you haven’t seen it yet) and the last question in our trivia theme on the British Open was on Friday. Exactly 50% of the entries we received chose A, while 16% chose B and 20% chose D. That’s one of the biggest splits we’ve had in a while so find out today if your answer was correct earning you one more entry into our daily drawings for great golf prizes.

Speaking of prizes, congratulations to our Big Prize Friday winner from last week - Anders Danielson of Altamonte Springs, Florida. Anders won a Bobby Jones fairway wood along with an official 2007 British Open cap.

This week, our trivia theme is going to be on Nick Faldo, who turned 50 years old last week, and we’re starting the week off - just like we have on Mondays for the last several weeks - by giving away another great wedge from Feel Golf.

Okay, that’s it for today. Have a great Monday! - Keri

Padraig Harrington Carries The Claret Jug

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Padraig Harrington is now the proud carrier of the oldest and arguably most celebrated trophy in golf — the Claret Jug. The Claret goes to the winner of the British Open for one year, as it has since 1928. (History actually goes back even farther — read HERE.) Or as the New York Times explains:

The oldest trophy in major championship golf has lived on Tiger Woods’s mantel, guarded Ben Curtis’s television and reclined in the back seat of Todd Hamilton’s car.

It has held cheap beer, expensive Champagne, and iced tea brewed by Justin Leonard’s mother.

Tom Watson, who won the trophy five times, accidentally smacked it with a backswing decades ago, leaving a tiny blemish on the prize known worldwide as the claret jug.

Here’s how Padraig won (sorry for the music):

Henrik Stenson Is Not A Happy Swede

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Henrik Stenson was fined over $1,000 for beating a tee marker with his club at the British Open. Henrik took a swing at the marker and broke it in half. Seems golf officials don’t really like that kinda stuff very much. The Swede shot a triple-bogey on the hole and didn’t make the cut. The $1,024 fine likely doesn’t bother him very much though: Stetson has already racked up $2.5 million this year.
