Fight! Old Golfers Vs. The Kids
Old golfers have been called ‘leeches’ that hog golf courses and suffocate golf clubs. Ouch! Where did this come from, you ask? Well the Golf Club Secretary Newsletter published an article asking for stricter standards on senior memberships into golf clubs. Their reasoning: retired people have nothing to do and are hogging the course. OMG! Here’s Golf Club Secretary:
‘Perhaps it will take a change in attitude towards those members who are “always at the club” from being perceived as the club’s life-blood to being perceived as the club’s leeches?’
Anybody run into senior citizen bias at the club? Or is this just a bunch of hogwash drummed up by some trigger happy writer?

This couldn’t be closer to the truth. The cost of maintaining a golf course is increasing with every round and yet the number of senior rounds are increasing at a tremendous rate. Without reducing concessions or leaning towards a pay per round type of membership, golf courses will simply be run out of business by their own customers!
Bring on higher senior rates because they have more access to the usage.
