We’re giving away a TaylorMade travel cover today on GolfNow TV

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Hi, everyone!

Since yesterday was President’s Day, our trivia question was about which U.S. President had a putting green installed on the lawn of the White House. 93% of the answers we received chose the correct Commander-In-Chief so, on today’s show, we’ll tell you which president it was and you will get another entry into our computer for our daily drawings if your answer was correct.

Speaking of daily drawings, we started off the week with a Big Prize Monday and our prize was another gold medal club on the 2008 Golf Digest Hot List - the Callaway FT-5 driver. I am happy to say that we heard from our winner, who was Tom McMahon of Oradell, New Jersey. We went back and looked and we’ve never had a winner from New Jersey before so, congratulations, Tom! Remember, our winners have to contact us within 30 days after we announce their name in order to claim their prizes and we’ve only had about ten winners e-mail us since the beginning of the year. So, be sure to watch each day or subscribe to either my daily e-mails or the GolfNow daily e-mails, because we list the winner’s names there, too.

Okay, that’s it for today. Have a great Tuesday! - Keri

Golf Course Turns Deadly For Valentine

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Valentine’s wasn’t all candy and flowers.

Chief Petty Officer Thomas J. Valentine, a Special Warfare Operator from Hampton Roads, Virginia, was found dead on the Mission Royale Golf Course in Casa Grande, Arizona. The Navy SEALS sailor had served in the military for nearly 20 years when he was discovered by a maintenance worker at 7:14 a.m. local time on February 13.

Apparently, Valentine, 37, was conducting a routine training exercise in free-falling when his parachute wouldn’t open which caused him to plunge to the ground near one of holes on the golf course.

The Navy has launched an investigation into the incident.

Mission Royale Golf Course did not have any comments on the incident.
