Our free golf and free gas week continues today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Hi, everyone!

Okay, the big night is finally here and I’m so excited for the premiere of Highway 18 tonight at 10pm Eastern Time on The Golf Channel. I’m thrilled to be the host of this brand new show and I really hope you can watch and please let me know what you think!

Since today is July 22nd and there are two 2’s in the date and it’s Tuesday, then we’re going to make today Two for Tuesday and, this week, there’s a special twist to it and that is that there’s going to be two correct answers to today’s trivia question! In addition to that, we’re also going to be giving away a free round of golf and a free gas card to two winners and, to celebrate the premiere of Highway 18 tonight, each winner is also going to receive a Golf Channel prize package!

For our first question of the week, we asked you to pick the golfer who got mad and threw and kicked his own golf shoe during a tournament - which almost hit a referee in the face! We had another small split in our entries with 21% choosing A - Tommy Bolt and then 55% picking Sergio Garcia. Well, today we’ll tell you who had the barefoot temper tantrum and you can find out if your answer was correct and earned you another entry into our daily drawings.

We also gave away our first free round of golf and free $50 gas card on yesterday’s show and our winner was C.T.Bulloch of Flowery Branch, Georgia. Plus, in addition to the free gas and golf, C.T. also won a dozen personalized Titleist Pro-V1 golf balls so, C.T., be sure to contact me within 30 days to claim these great prizes!

Okay, that’s it for today. Have a great Tuesday and I hope you enjoy Highway 18! - Keri!

Tiger Who?

Friday, July 18th, 2008

It is cold, wet and windy in England, and Tiger Woods is no where to be found. To some, this may be reason to miss the final rounds of this week’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Any fans deciding not to watch, however, really don’t know what they are missing…

Greg Norman, the Shark and former World No. 1 portrayed some of that old brilliance that won him two previous Open Championships. After two rounds, the 53-year old Australian sits alone in second place at even par. Absent from the limelight for most of the decade, Norman is showing us he can still play with the young guns of the PGA. Maybe his recent marriage to former tennis star Chris Evert has put a bounce back in his step.

Those hoping for David Duval to regain the swing he had 10 years ago found him looking good through the first two rounds. The former Open champion and World No. 1 is in a tie for fourth place at two over par. Let’s hope he keeps it up through the weekend and gives himself a chance coming down the stretch on Sunday.

What about Rocco Mediate? The 2008 US Open contender is continuing his outstanding season by putting himself in contention again. Having been haunted by a bad back for much of his career, Rocco seems to be making the most of this good run of play he has come across. It’s hard not to root for someone who always seems to have a good time, no matter how tense the situation can get.

It’s the final day of our British Open theme week today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Hi, everyone and happy Friday!

Well, the British Open got off to a blustery, wet start so we’ll have to see how the weather effects everyone today. Today is the last day of our British Open theme week and we’ll be asking our final question today on this amazing tournament and we’ll also be giving away our final British Open prize package.

Yesterday we asked you to choose the golfer who tore up his scorecard and quit during his first appearance at the British Open and 75% of the entries we received had the correct answer. So, today we’ll tell you who it was and then you can see if you added another entry into our computer for our daily drawings.

Yesterday was Big Prize Thursday and our prize was a framed British Open poster of Royal Birkdale and our winner was Marc Braunstein of Gilbert, Arizona. Congratulations, Marc, and now to claim this Big Prize, just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days and we’ll get this British Open poster out to you.

Okay, that’s it for this week. I’m getting so excited for the premiere of Highway 18 this Tuesday on The Golf Channel and if you click the Highway 18 logo on our home page, you’ll go to a new sneak preview of the first episode. Thanks to everyone who played this week and I hope everyone has a great weekend! - Keri
