It’s Big Prize Two for Tuesday today on GolfNow.com’s Trivia Contest

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Hi everyone!

Well, tonight is the big finale of Highway 18 and I can’t believe it’s over already! There are only two teams left - the Ashleys and Rob & Charlotte Campbell - and they will be racing around Key West tonight as each team tries to become the very first champions and win a grand prize worth over $100,000 in cash and prizes. But, there is also going to be a very unexpected turn of events that will completely affect the outcome of the the series so, I really hope you can tune in tonight at 10pm Eastern Time, only on The Golf Channel.

Okay, our trivia question on yesterday’s show asked you to choose the last tournament that Bobby Jones won when he became the first golfer to complete a grand slam in golf - which was different than the grand slam we have today. 68% of you chose the correct answer and, if you were one of those players, then you’ve added one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings.

Our prize on yesterday’s show was a Bag Boy three-wheel push cart and we heard from our winner almost immediately, and that was Brad Stieler of Mira Loma, California! So, congratulations, Brad, and be on the lookout for your new Bag Boy push cart soon.

Okay, that’s it for today. Have a great Tuesday! - Keri

Villegas Steps Up At PGA Tour’s Final Round

Monday, September 29th, 2008

For the final round of the 2008 PGA Tour Championships, Sergio Garcia did not start off well. He had held a three stroke lead overnight, but started the final day by bogeying three of the first 10 holes before raising his game after the turn.

This was all Camilo Villegas needed to step up. He came from five strokes behind to seal his second successive PGA Tour title by beating Garcia in a sudden-death playoff. The winning two-putt par was worth an extra $1.5 million. The pair finished the 72 regulation holes on seven-under-par 273, Garcia parring the last for a 71 and Villegas closing with an eight-birdie 66.

Villegas also earned a $3 million bonus for finishing second to Vijay Singh in FedEx Cup points.

So, now it’s official. The 2008 golf season is over. Click here to read more about yesterday’s final round.
