It’s Big Prize Wednesday on GolfNow.com’s Trivia Contest

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!

So, our question yesterday had to do with a golfer who shot the very first Archaeopteryx in golf. Maybe we should have just asked what an Archaeopteryx was! How many of you knew? I should know because I’ll probably hit one of those at some point! Well, whether you knew what is was, or not, 79% of you had the correct answer and have now added one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings.

Since it was Highway 18 Tuesday - I can’t believe there’s only one show left!- our prize on yesterday’s show was a Golf Channel prize package and we heard from our winner - Charlie Kamer of
Louisville, Kentucky
- right away. So, congratulations, Charlie, and be on the lookout for your Golf Channel prize package!

Okay, that’s all for today. Have a great day, everyone! - Keri

A-Balance promises to help maintain crown shape for optimum performance. The company touts flexibility to help reduce friction upon impact. These tees are also available in 6 different colors making it easy to spot after you tee off and somewhat impossible to lose. ($8/3-pack)

Kentucky Makes Home Of The “Red, White & Boo”

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

As the United States was on its way to a Ryder Cup victory last weekend, no one seemed to be having more fun than Boo Weekley.

“It’s time to go,” was Weekley’s message. “Let’s ride this pony to the house.”

Named after Yogi Bear’s sidekick, Boo kept the crowds revved up and teammates rallied together during his first Ryder Cup. Whether he was telling stories about wrestling Arangatanges or galloping off the tee box riding his driver like a horse, he proved to be a major distraction to the Europeans. Really it was just Boo being Boo.

We’re giving away an Odyssey White Hot Tour Putter today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Hi everyone and happy Monday!

We wrapped up our Ryder Cup theme week on Friday - before the big finish at the real Ryder Cup yesterday (we won’t spoil just in case you haven’t found out who won yet) and our final trivia question of the week was on golfer who had played on the Ryder Cup the most number of times. The answer is certainly no big secret and 78% of the entries we received were correct and so those people all now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings.

We also gave away our last Ryder Cup prize package on Friday and our winner was Robert Willett of Glendale, Arizona. Congratulations, Robert, and now to claim this great prize package, then just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.

Okay, that’s it for today. Have a great Monday, everyone! - Keri

A True Legend Shows Up At Ryder Cup

Friday, September 19th, 2008

In his hometown of Louisville, Muhammad Ali made an unexpected visit to the Ryder Cup yesterday on the final day of practice. Ali showed up in a cart on the 10th tee of the Valhalla Golf Club to meet up with the American team before moving on to greet the Europeans.

Unable to speak, the 66-year-old former heavyweight champ waved to a cheering gallery as his hands trembled from Parkinson’s disease. Both Ryder Cup teams were reportedly awe struck by the surprise visitor and both had toured the Muhammad Ali Center earlier in the week.
