A True Legend Shows Up At Ryder Cup

In his hometown of Louisville, Muhammad Ali made an unexpected visit to the Ryder Cup yesterday on the final day of practice. Ali showed up in a cart on the 10th tee of the Valhalla Golf Club to meet up with the American team before moving on to greet the Europeans.

Unable to speak, the 66-year-old former heavyweight champ waved to a cheering gallery as his hands trembled from Parkinson’s disease. Both Ryder Cup teams were reportedly awe struck by the surprise visitor and both had toured the Muhammad Ali Center earlier in the week.

Woods Plays Golf At Wake Forest College

Wake Forest College in North Carolina has been famous for some of the golfers that played there including: Arnold Palmer, Curtis Strange, Jay Haas and Lanny Wadkins, to name a few. But now Woods has signed on to the golf team as well. Cheyenne Woods that is, Tiger’s neice.

Cheyenne will play as a freshman on the golf team at Wake Forest College and was once a two-time Arizona state high school champion and three-time MVP. She learned how to golf from her grandfather, the late Earl Woods Sr.; the same person who taught Tiger how to play.

Spider-Man Takes Home First PGA Tour Title

Nearly three seasons after he received his PGA Tour card, Camilo Villegas took home his first first place title in a PGA Tour event. By winning last weekend’s $7 million BMW Championship, Villegas made his way in the top 20 of the World Golf Rankings, also a first.

For the last 44 holes of the tournament, Villegas did not three putt, one-putting 27 of those last 44 holes. In the end, Villegas finished two strokes ahead of Dudley Hart (65), with Anthony Kim (67) and Jim Furyk (70) another shot back in a tie for third.
