A True Legend Shows Up At Ryder Cup
Friday, September 19th, 2008In his hometown of Louisville, Muhammad Ali made an unexpected visit to the Ryder Cup yesterday on the final day of practice. Ali showed up in a cart on the 10th tee of the Valhalla Golf Club to meet up with the American team before moving on to greet the Europeans.
Unable to speak, the 66-year-old former heavyweight champ waved to a cheering gallery as his hands trembled from Parkinson’s disease. Both Ryder Cup teams were reportedly awe struck by the surprise visitor and both had toured the Muhammad Ali Center earlier in the week.
