3 Easy Golf-Themed Halloween Costume Ideas
It’s Friday the 13th – what better time to start thinking about Halloween and your costume for all the parties this year?
Sure, you can go to your local costume shop and find an array of the predictable Star Wars and superhero costumes this year, but you’re a golfer. Why not bring a little of the game you love to life instead?
Here are a few ideas for some creative golf-themed costumes for All Hallows’ Eve this year that are easy to recreate.
Tee it Up
An easy golf-related Halloween costume, this costume only requires a mask and some matching clothes.
With your head as the ball, you’ll need to find a golf ball mask, one that goes completely over your head, or get creative with some white paint. The finishing touch is the tee, or the rest of your body. For this you’ll need to wear pants and a turtleneck that are the same color so you will resemble a tee. With tees available in just about any color under the sun you can wear just about anything and don’t have to worry if your outfit is not a more traditional tee color like white or tan (wood colored).
Old Timer
Bring back the days of Francis Ouimet and Old Tom Morris with an old time golfer costume.
This one is available all over the place and most come complete with an argyle sweater vest, tie, plaid knickers, socks and a beret or Kangol hat.
The late Payne Stewart put a modern spin on this look, most times leaving out the sweater and tie but always rocking some sweet knickers and matching socks.
Grab a persimmon club out of the garage if you still have one to complete the look.
Go Like a Pro
It’s easy to dress like the pros nowadays as so many players are tied to specific apparel brands and wear signature outfits.
There is always the Sunday Tiger – red shirt, Nike golf hat and black pair of pants. This costume has taken on a few alternate looks over the last few years after some of Tiger Woods off the course travails, but he is still one of the most popular and recognizable players in the world.
A little younger and looking for something different? Well, then break out the orange. A Puma flat hat, orange pants and orange shirt and all of a sudden you’re Rickie Fowler, a big hit with the younger crowd on tour.
A cigarette, diet coke, blonde wig and crazy-patterned pants and you’re John Daly. A curly brown wig and Oakleys (if you have em) and you’re Rory McIlroy. If you decide to go to a party as a group, find inspiration from Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Ben Crane and Hunter Mahan and show up as the Golf Boys.
