Oh, Canada! Most widely-known for its stellar hockey, cold winter temps and deliciously-sweet maple syrup, The True North also offers some amazing golf choices.

Canadian golf offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience with its natural, rugged and beautiful landscapes and vibrant cities. If not already on your golf bucket list, consider road tripping from East to West, exploring these fantastic, easily-accessible courses located just off the Trans-Canada Highway.

Kemptville (Ottawa): eQuinelle Golf Club – The National Capital Region’s newest championship golfing experience, eQuinelle Golf Club offers links-style golf with five sets of large bent grass tees per hole. Bent grass fairways, large undulating bent grass greens, bunkers and natural fescue areas help the course provide a picturesque, firm test and have helped make the course one of the top-ranked public golf courses in the Ottawa area.

 

Maple (Toronto): Eagles Nest Golf Club – Considered one of the best courses in Toronto, Eagles Nest is a links layout created by golf course architect Doug Carrick. Oscillating fairways force players to overcome numerous uneven lies while trying to avoid pot bunkers and fescued dunes.

 

Mississauga, Ontario: Lakeview Golf Course – Lakeview has hosted the Canadian Open twice, (won by C.W Hackney in 1923 and Tommy Armour in 1934), and is one of the oldest and most historic municipal courses in Ontario. The Herbert Strong design is a traditional parkland style course that plays at a 6,340-yard par of 71 and the course features large sloping greens that have subtle break.

 

Chestermere (Calgary), Alberta: Lakeside Golf Club – A semi-private 18-hole course, Lakeside Golf Club is located in Chestermere, just 20 minutes east of downtown Calgary. Its 15,000 square foot clubhouse is home to The Point restaurant and lounge, a pro shop, driving range, putting green, members’ locker room, members’ health club, and club storage.

 

Oliver, British Columbia: Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course – Nk’Mip Canyon expanded from a nine-hole to 18 championship holes in 2001. A total of 13 holes were added while five of the original nine were renovated and the result is a blend of natural contrasts divided into the desert- dominated Canyon Nine and the Grove Nine. Front tees are extremely playable and range from 5,100 to 5,800 yards and championship tees can stretch the layout to up to 7,000 yards.
