Gear Up for Fall Golf
After a week off, the Champions Tour returns this week with the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, NY.
And, with summer winding down, school starting back up and fall weather marching toward us, now is the perfect time to gear up for fall golf, perhaps even at Dick’s.
A trip to the sporting goods store is always fun. There’s just something about the smells, colors and the feel of brand new gear. Here’s a quick list of our picks for fall golf must-haves.
TaylorMade SLDR Driver – The pros are always tinkering. Think Mickelson with his bag o’ wedges and Phrankenwood. Now, you can, too with this state of the art driver from our friends at TaylorMade.
The longest driver ever from TaylorMade, the SLDR has a sliding weight that moves forward and back, giving players up to 30 yards of shot shape adjustment. So fade, draw, whatever you need, the SLDR will help you hit it.
Players can also adjust the center of gravity lower and more forward to generate high launch and more distance. The loft angle also adjusts up to 1.5°, making the SLDR ideal for golfers of all skill levels.
Srixon Z-STAR Ball – You’ve got a killer adjustable new driver, now all you need’s ball to pound down the fairway. The Srixon Z-STAR has been re-designed to improve performance with SPIN SKIN™ coating that gives players improved control on the green. And, the Speed Dimple design (344 dimples) reduces drag when the ball is in flight.
Puma New Wave Golf Jacket – Fall golf is great and courses can be at their most beautiful when the colors change. But fall golf can also mean chilly mornings and breezy afternoons. The Puma New Wave Golf Jacket will keep you comfortable in the breeze, but and also in your swing.
This full-zip, jersey fleece jacket is made from dryCELL moisture-wicking fabric that pulls sweat away from your skin to keep you dry and comfortable. The New Wave is also lightweight so it won’t interfere with your swing while keeping you warm during those cool fall rounds.
NIKE FI Impact Golf Shoe – The FI Impact gives players the best of both worlds as its breathable mesh upper provides ventilation while still keeping your feet dry. It even comes with a one-year Limited Waterproof Warranty. The shoe also features a molded sockliner to give your feet and ankles targeted support and an outsole with flex grooves and rubber traction pads give you traction on any part of the course – no matter where you hit your ball.
FootJoy Men’s RainGrip Golf Glove – Fall weather can be unpredictable but that shouldn’t stop any of us from getting a round in and the RainGrip Glove will come in handy on those rainy and misty fall days.
A microfiber palm conforms to your hands to give players a great grip in wet or humid conditions, and a knit backhand provides breathability and dries quickly.
