Trip of a Lifetime: Father Son Tournament

For over 20 years, the Cleveland Golf/Srixon Father Son Golf Team Classic has been a one-of-a-kind event where memories are made for a lifetime.

The unforgettable weekend kicks off in late February 2015 with four nights at The Lodge at Pebble Beach and three incredible rounds of golf at Pebble Beach Golf Links, The Links in Spanish Bay and Spyglass Hill Golf Course.

Enjoy the picturesque views and incomparable golf as you walk in the footsteps of legends. We caught up with two father-son teams who played and won last year’s tournament – here’s what they had to say about the event.

1. What was it like playing the bucket list Pebble Beach Golf Links course?  

The courses are amazing. Each one offers such a different test of golf and patience, beauty and awe. Walking down the fairways of one of the most iconic golf courses in America with my dad is such an amazing memory.

2. What was the best part of the tournament? 

The whole experience was amazing, from the tournament staff, Pebble Beach Golf Lodge, restaurants, 3 amazing golf course, welcome and awards banquets, the Cleveland Golf family and staff. The whole event is TOP NOTCH.

3. Describe the tournament in one word? 

Surreal.

4. What was it like spending the whole weekend with your dad? 

My father and I had an amazing time, we became friends, teammates and buddies during the week. We spent time with the other father/sons that came to the tournament and Cleveland Golf really created an atmosphere to celebrate the relationship. I had a great time spending the time with my dad, the golf was a close second.

5. What would you say to other people who are debating whether or not to participate?  

We played in 2013 and 2014 and may look into it again in 2016 – I 100 percent recommend it. We have great memories, created great friends and had an amazing time. The registration is expensive but the memories are priceless.

1. What was it like playing the bucket list Pebble Beach Golf Links course?  

It’s one thing to see the course on TV but it’s so much more impressive in person and hard to explain to somebody who hasn’t been there before.

2. What was the best part of the tournament? 

Playing Pebble Beach for the first time on a beautiful day with my father.

3. Describe the tournament in one word? 

Timeless.

4. What was it like spending the whole weekend with your dad? 

It was probably the closest my dad and I have ever been.

5. What would you say to other people who are debating whether or not to participate?  

Sign up and don’t look back. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations. I think I’ve also made life-long friends from the trip with other Father/Son teams.
