Wentworth Golf Club (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) – This par 70, 6,429 yard design features a front nine that meanders through stately cypress heads, majestic pines and old oak trees. The back nine then features a Scottish links style layout that is sure to test your shot making ability. After your round, enjoy formal and casual dining in the New Mulligans Irish Pub located in the English style clubhouse.
Dunedin Golf Club (Dunedin, Fla.) – With renovations completed in 2008, this Donald Ross design features an 18-hole layout stretching 6,625 yards. Established in 1927, come follow the footsteps of legends such as Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Byron Nelson, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Walter Hagan, Babe Zaharias and more. Also, Tampa Bay Magazine named Dunedin “2008 Country Club of the Year.” This course is definitely one to check out if you are in the Tampa area.
Saddlebrook Resort (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) – Featuring two amazing courses –par 70 and 71 – Saddlebrook Resort is worth the visit. Nestled in the wilderness winding through cypress, pine and palm trees, the visuals at this course are simply breathtaking.
Chicago Standouts
Bowes Creek Country Club (Elgin, Ill.) – Created by Jacobson Golf Course Design, this 18-hole championship course is enjoyable for all skill levels. With a fantastic clubhouse along with multiple practice facilities including a 30 station driving range, putting/chipping greens and a private lesson tee, Bowes Creek CC has everything to offer.
Arrowhead Golf Club (Wheaton, Ill.) – Arrowhead Golf Club provides 27 holes of superb yet challenging golf. With water on 17/27 holes – along with 77 bunkers – be sure to keep it in the short grass.
Schaumburg Golf Club (Schaumburg, Ill.) – Providing 18 spectacular holes at 6,542 yards, this beautiful country club setting is available at public course prices. Rated four stars by Golf Digest in 2008, Schaumburg GC won’t disappoint.
