What’s Your Celebrity Dream Round?

The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am teed off today and with it the golf world – and beyond – will turn its collective head to the Monterey Peninsula for some good old-fashioned people-watching.

We can’t lie, we love celebrities and seeing them play one of the world’s top courses.

If you’re a sports fan, this year’s celebrity field is for you. There are four NFL quarterbacks, and it’s safe to say you might have heard of them. Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos, the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers (discount double-check) and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Alex Smith will trade their play-calls and defensive reads for green reads and some very hopeful birdies.

The NFL will also get participation from former head coach and current broadcaster and analyst Herm Edwards, ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. We’re waiting to see if Pebble Beach approves Belichick’s famed hoodie as acceptable golf attire.

If you’re a music fan, you’re set too. Darius Rucker joins Kid Rock, T-Bone Burnett, Kenny G, Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney and Clay Walker will all be in the field.

Finally, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia, Chris O’Donnell and Ray Romano are just a few of the actors involved this year at Pebble Beach.

Looking at this year’s star-studded lineup got us thinking about who our celebrity “dream team” foursome would include… here are the folks we’d like to join for a day on the links:

Kurt Russell – It would be great to talk about all of the great flicks he’s acted in. And if you get down after nine holes and need some motivation, he does one heck of a Herb Brooks impression.

Condoleezza Rice – If she can tee it up at Augusta National, she can tee it up anywhere with us.

Tom Brady – Jim Nantz tells a story about how he and Brady – thanks to No. 12’s determination to win – beat former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush. It’s safe to say Brady keeps his game face during any competition.

Who would you tee it up with if you could choose anyone in the world?
