Florida Surf and Turf Weekend
While Old Man Winter has worn out his welcome in much of the country, the Southern Florida area continues to resemble a tropical paradise, rather than a winter wonderland. What better way to escape the northern chill than a weekend of golf, fishing, and fun, in the Sunshine State?
On the course, you can expect lush greenery, the occasional water hazard, and an almost always sunny backdrop – and on the water, have a go at the many species of fish that frequent the Florida coast, such as Marlin, Mackerel, Grouper, Flounder and more.
Check out these GolfNow courses and their local fishing spots, perfect for the golfer, and angler, in all of us:
Biltmore Golf Club – Designed by golf great, Donald Ross, the Coral Gables course has been called “infinitely playable” no matter your skill level. The course is located on-site at the historic Biltmore Hotel, boasting its very own golf academy and Total Pro Golf program. GolfNow golfers give this course four out of five stars. For an off-land adventure, make a quick trip to Grove Key Marina, just thirteen minutes from the Biltmore.
Crandon Golf Club – The only public golf course on the bay, Crandon Golf Club, is located on the “island paradise” of Key Biscayne, about ten minutes from downtown Miami. Surrounded by water, the course is as beautiful as it is challenging. Crandon Golf Club provides golfers with the full Florida experience – and just minutes away is the Crandon Park Marina. For fishing, check out L&H Sportfishing for half- and full-day charters.
Jacaranda Golf Club – Fort Lauderdale’s Jacaranda Golf Club is home to two newly restored golf courses, the East Course, and West Course. The Jacaranda courses are more inland than the aforementioned, and provide a more lush playing landscape with a private club feel. Jacaranda golf club doesn’t skimp on water hazards but if you’re looking to set sail, book a fishing charter at Fort Lauderdale’s Fishing Headquarters.
