Austin City Limits
The famed Austin City Limits music festival kicked off this week, which means music lovers from across the country have journeyed to Austin, Texas, to enjoy performances from some of the biggest names in music. Though the festival is the main event, the real star of the weekend is the city of Austin. There’s something for everyone in Austin – the outdoorsman, the historian, the foodie, the culture enthusiast, and of course, the golfer. PLACES TO SEE
Baylor Street Art Wall (11th & Baylor Street)
This one-of-a-kind stretch of graffiti is truly unique to Austin. Enjoy the creative artworks of the city’s residents as you stroll down Baylor Street — it is also known for its incredible view of downtown.
Texas State Capitol Building (201 E. 14th St.)
A true testament to 19th century public architecture, the Texas State Capitol building sits at one of the highest points in Austin. Take a history lesson on foot with a free tour of the Capitol, offered every day of the week.
Austin Eats offers three different options for food tours—the South Congress Walking Tour, the Best of Austin Food Truck Bus Tour, and the East Austin Electric Bicycle Food Tour. Each tour is as indulgent as the last, with offerings from the tastiest local eateries.
Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (1800 N Congress Ave.)
Just a few blocks from the State Capitol, this kid-friendly museum tells the story of Texas, equipped with cowboys and Indians, ranchers, oil barons, and Buffalo soldiers.
