Atlanta Courses That Are Just Peachy
Home to the NFL’s Falcons, MLB’s Braves and NBA’s Hawks, Atlanta, Georgia is known as a sports metropolis. So, it’s no surprise that it is also home to some of the best golf courses too.
With plenty of resort and public courses to choose from in Atlanta, there’s always somewhere to #GoPlay. Make some of these courses part of your next trip to the Peach State!
1. Chicopee Woods
Enjoy a round at the 27-hole Chicopee Woods located just off of I-985 in Gainesville. Nestled at the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains, the beautiful scenery makes for a relaxing day of golf. Each of the three 9-hole courses offer their own distinct set of challenges, so that you’ll have an exciting round no matter which courses you choose to play. The new Mini Verde greens are an excellent addition as well. It’s no wonder why Chicopee Woods continues to be a favorite among North Atlanta golfers.
2. Bear’s Best Atlanta
If you’re looking to play a high-end course in the Atlanta area, Bear’s Best is it. Located in Suwanee, this Jack Nicklaus-designed course offers a pristine golf experience with fantastic views. Each hole is modeled after some of the most challenging holes across the world, including holes from Gleneagles in Scotland to Palm Beach’s PGA “Championship” Course. Enjoy the luxuries of a private club in a public daily-fee setting for an unforgettable round.
3. Sugar Hill Golf Club
Sugar Hill Golf Club has some of the most scenic views of all the North Georgia courses. Mountain vistas with tree-lined fairways make for a perfect setting for an ultimate golf experience. The new champion dwarf Bermuda grass greens offer precision during your putts. If you’re up for a challenge with spectacular surroundings, add Sugar Hill Golf Club to your course bucket list.
4. Cherokee Run Golf Club
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful semi-private Atlanta courses, Cherokee Run Golf Club was designed by Arnold Palmer in 1995 to host the 1996 Olympic Equestrian Events and is located in the Georgia International Horse Park. Surrounded by stunning nature with elevation changes, the course is set within the Georgia pines and features 96 bunkers for challenging play.
No matter where you choose to play in Atlanta, there are sure to be picturesque views and endless challenges to test every golfer’s game.
