Cool Golf Gear for the Summer

Range finders. Swing analyzers. Gloves. Golf bags.

With so many options available on the market today, shopping for golf gear can be quite intimidating. Especially if you don’t know where to start.

We’re here to help! From groove cleaners to square putters, the following list includes some of the golf industry’s latest, most technologically savvy equipment so you can shave strokes off your scores and play to your fullest potential this summer.

Smart Square Putter, Cleveland Golf

In stores everywhere since November 2013, Cleveland Golf’s Smart Square Putter was designed to help golfers maintain proper putting form. By using Dual Axis Alignment, two squares that create parallel lines, golfers can appropriately frame the ball as they address their putts. Whether customers are looking for typical lengths (33 to 35 inches) or longer putters that do not need to be anchored (39 inches), they are sure to find the design that best suits them.

GRIP-DRY, GP Promotions

It happens far too often. While playing after a rainstorm, golfers set their wedges or putters down on the green only to discover their grips are so wet they can barely hold onto their clubs as they prepare to hit their next shots. Thanks to the innovation of the GRIP-DRY, this is an issue that will no longer exist. It is a lightweight product created to snap onto golf shafts directly below the grip so that it never touches wet turf. Manufactured in the United States, the product can even be imprinted with customers’ names or company logos.

Groove Caddy, Groove Caddy, LLC

A winner of the “Best New Product” award at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show, the Groove Caddy simplifies the process of club cleaning. Featuring a 1350 RPM motor, non-abrasive nylon bristles and a rechargeable lithium ion battery, the Groove Caddy can quickly clean the grooves, cavity backs and club heads of woods, hybrids and irons with the push of a button. The product also offers customers a rubber grip that is easy to handle and the Groove Caddy is compact enough to be stored in golf bag compartments when it is not being used.

GolfBuddy VS4, GolfBuddy

Small enough to fit in pockets or clip onto belts, the GolfBuddy VS4 offers golfers yet another distance measuring device from one of the world’s most renowned GPS range finder creators. The VS4 not only provides audio and visual distances to the back, center, and front of greens, but also features automatic recognition of over 37,000 golf courses throughout the world. Better yet, the device has a 10 hour-long battery life and is water resistant so it can be used in all weather conditions.

Factory Lite Golf Bag, Oakley

Although Oakley is mostly recognized for its variety of sunglasses, the company’s Factory Lite Golf Bag is starting to receive recognition as well. Weighing only 2.8 pounds and having padded shoulder straps, the Factory Lite provides golfers an incentive to walk rather than ride in a cart. Aside from its lightness, it also features a four-way divider for clubs as well as custom apparel, glove and mesh pockets so golfers can store all of their accessories in easy-to-access compartments.

SwingSmart Golf Analyzer, SwingSmart

It truly is one of the simplest ways to improve your swing. All golfers need to do is download a free SwingSmart app to their iPhones, iPads or Androids, charge their SwingSmart golf analyzer and fasten it to the underside of one of their golf club shafts. After swinging the club, they will soon receive a multitude of statistics concerning their swing motions – speed, club path, tempo, face angle – in a highly accurate 3D view. As they collect and save the data, they can continue to swing their clubs to compare swings and discover their strengths and weaknesses. The data can then be emailed or shown to golf instructors so golfers can improve upon their flaws and ultimately shoot lower scores.

Golfboard

GolfBoard, Sol Boards, LLC

Another recipient of the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show’s “Best New Product” award, the GolfBoard wasn’t just built for surfers and skateboarders who like to golf. Rather, it was created for anyone looking to play the game in an entirely different fashion. This is a four-wheel drive, posi-traction board that is safe, easy to ride and surprisingly quick. Maneuvered either by an onboard thumb throttle or a wireless handheld controller, the GolfBoard is powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and features 4×11 tires that will not damage turfgrass. If golfers desire to be on the “cutting edge,” the GolfBoard is certainly a “must-have.”
