Veteran’s Day Specials for Golfers
There is a deeper meaning to Veteran’s Day: It’s a day to honor our nation’s military and those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Whether you, a family member or even a friend served in the armed forces there are many opportunities for recognition on the golf course.
Among these opportunities are events and discounts for those to compete and socialize with others, as well as enjoy a peaceful day on the course.
Below are a few options for veterans this year:
If you’re looking for the perfect course, one of the best places to look for military members is MilitaryTeeTimes.com. Military Tee Times provides an easy way for all members of the U.S. military to enjoy golf by offering exclusive savings on tee times at thousands of courses worldwide. Military Tee Times is available for all U.S. Military members active, National Guard, Reserve, retirees, veterans, and dependents.
On Veteran’s Day, active duty military and veterans can play 18 holes for free at select courses in Georgia. From now until Nov. 13, pay only the cart fee. Players must show their military ID cards to book tee times. Some of the courses included in this deal are Arrowhead Pointe in Elberton, Brazell’s Creek in Reidsville, Little Ocmulgee in Helena, and The Creek in Social Circle.
Veterans have the option to play at Lake Blackshear Resort and Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course, for free now until Nov. 13. The course will be hosting its inaugural Veteran’s Day Two-man Best Ball Tournament, with lunch and awards on Nov. 11. All proceeds from the tournament and donations will be given to the non-profit Folds of Honor that provides scholarships and assistance to spouses and children of fallen and disabled soldiers.
Now through Nov. 11 at 6:00 pm, active military, veterans, and their dependents receive free admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame and Museum. There will be a special scavenger hunt highlighting golf’s relationship with the military in the museum. The World Golf Hall of Fame is located in St. Augustine, Florida.
Thank you to all who have served for our country, and we appreciate the sacrifices made for our freedom.
